Starting in Cusco, we will spend the first day getting acclimated to the altitude while relaxing having a Pisco Sour in the courtyard at our wonderful hotel. The second day, we will have an exciting whitewater raft down the Urubamba, an Andean river. The next four days are spent trekking and camping on the Inca trail. Your porter will carry up to 15 lbs of your personal items and clothing. On the last day of the Machu Picchu trek, we will approach Machu Picchu during sunrise. After spending the day at Machu Picchu, you will be taken on a Vista Dome train ride back to Cusco. After a night relaxing in beds, we will spend our day watching Warachicuy Inka Festival in Cusco. This is not the itinerary but a very brief description. Please read more ....... Many young children in Western countries grow out of their good quality shoes way before they are worn out. Children feet suffer in Cusco from the cold and muddy conditions in wet season using just their sandals. It is only a tiny space in your back pack to bring a pair of children shoes. Think Goodwill if you have no children boots. These shoes will be turned over to the proper representatives to make sure the children receive them. NOTE ABOUT CAMPSITES ON THE INCA TRAIL Please note that we are not in control of the campsites that are issued from the Institute of National Culture. In general your campsite allocation is dependent on how early you book, or rather, how many permits are left. The first 250 spaces are generally given to Winay Wayna (3rd campsite) and thereafter we will have a longer walk to Machu Picchu on the last day. It could mean we do not make it for sunrise. Do not let this disappoint you as Machu Picchu is marvelous in itself! You also have to bring your original passport with you on the trek, with the same passport number you originally made your reservation with. Otherwise you will be unable to go on the trek. Photocopies are no longer acceptable. Full Passport Details of ALL Travelers, Full Name / Passport No / Nationality /Sex/ Date of Birth. This is a requirement of the INC and without these details no reservation can be made. If you think you will be changing your Passport prior to the trek, please notify us, as it is imperative that you are carrying the same passport details that you provide us with for the trek!
