Messiah Lutheran School Reviews

I am a parent of 3 children that attended Messiah and was TOTALLY satisfied with the school. My children were all different and needed different levels of assistance. my oldest child was very quiet and the teachers were always willing to go the extra mile for him. my other two children excelled because of the excellent academics that Messiah offers. My youngest was valedictorian of his 8th grade class and was salutatorian of his senior class at Luther North and now attends a prestigious university. I can't say enough about the quality education Messiah has given my family. Reading a couple of these reviews saddens me. I have been a member of Messiah quite a few years and would highly recommend anyone looking for a High academic/Christian Environment school should look to Messiah.

I am the parent of a first grader at Messiah. She has been offered a number of opportunities that I know she would not receive elsewhere. Her teachers have always been very apprachable. I was shocked to read some of the reviews posted in 2006. I wonder if these parents ever attempted to sit down with their child's teacher to addresss concerns. My guess would be no. Each time I have had a concern, the staff has been more than willing to meet with me and adress them. The teachers are exremely dedicated, often putting in long hours and volunteering to supervise extra programs for which I am pretty sure they are not being paid. I am very pleased and proud to be part of the Messiah family

As a parent of 2 very different students at Messiah, I have a unique insight on how teachers react to different learning styles. I have found the teachers to be supportive to the 'less advanced' student, and because of the small class sizes the teacher can take the time to make sure this student understands the lesson plan. Teachers are also able to support the 'fast learner' by applying more learning opportunities outside the box. Messiah offers a program for after school hours. Messiah offers several sports teams as well.

My children have been at Messiah for 4 years and we are very happy with the education they are receiving. I have not had any issues with teachers or staff. They are all friendly approachable and more that competent. I find that more often than not, parents are the problem not the school.

The class sizes are small but if your child has difficulties the teachers do not wish to handle these types of kids. With such small size classes all the children should be on the Honor List but only the same children remain on their high achiver list. I would not recommend this school for the education value this may be obtained in any other school but if you wish your child to be in a 'Christian' environment then Messiah is OK. Be warned that your child may become the object of bullies and the Princial will do nothing about it. I say take your money and invest it some where else!

There is no help for those students who are 'outside of the box'. Teachers only want to deal with children who will not be an accademic hassle. With such small class sizes all children should be on High Honor Roll sadly this is not the case. Messiah does not have much to offer besides the 'Christan Environment' when I left the school and they where transfered to Park Ridge I discoverd that they are far behind in math and the school is now providing tutoring. I say take your money else where!

I have two children in Messiah and couldn't be happier.they offer extended care from 7am to 6pm. the teachers are easy to contact for questions.
