Karel Havlicek Elementary School Reviews

I have to say that I',m surprised about the ranking for this school. Principal Akins and all the staff work so hard. They try to get the parents involved in their childs education unfortunetly they don't always suceed and the results are shown on the test scores. If parents would just take the time to get involved we wouldn't have dumb kids out in the streets doing stupid stuff. Wake up parents! Get involved!

Principal Nancy is working hard to change a school that can only rank 3 in the area. The building is Old and Dirty there is no air conditioning. The classrooms are over filled and in need of proper equiptment. The school lunches are not as healthy as they should be and no variety of choices. The non english speaking students can learn to speak english but if you only speak english there are no programs to learn spanish.Disappointing fact..

Principal Aiken and the staff continues to impress. My son has a great time at Havlicek and really likes his teacher.

My daughter is finishing her last of 3 years at Havlicek. We love it! The teacher are very attentive and involved with each student and parent. Seems impossible but true. They work as hard as you and your child does. Reading program is phenomenal my child is leaving there 5th grade and transfering into 6th with college level reading abilities. They are advocates for child health and safety. They really get the kids involved in promoting their community. Havlicek is the best!

My son is about to finish Kindergarten at Havlicek, the teacher was always there for us. It is hard to find teachers that care but Mrs. Main always makes sure that her students give their 100%, unfortunatelly some parents are not even ready to give 50% to help their own children an they think that is the Teacher's fault when their children do not succeed. Hard to change people, that never opened a book with their children during the school year.

My child is in the 2nd grade he has been at Havlicek since kindergarten. I have had teh ebst experience for my child. The teachers are welcome to parent involvement, and visits. Music classes are fun and educational. After school activities are good. I would recomend a child to attend -, like always a parent needs to be invovled! No matter how good the school.

Havlicek truly is a great place to learn. My son completed K thru 5th, Daughter is now in 5th and Son is entering 1st. We have had a great experience with the teachers and administrators. They truly put the children first.

I grew up at this school and wish my child could attend there. The teachers are all very pleasant and ALWAYS willing to go above and beyond. The best school in the district!

Havlicek's teachers (and especially principal) are great! Alot of their energy goes into the high hispanic population in the school, and while this is a great (and neccesary) thing, I feel that they tend to overlook the need for excelerated programs for children that are excelling. Overall, Havlicek is a great school with teachers that really seem to care.

I'd like to say that I really like Havlicek. In spite that it's a public school and the student teacher ratio is high, I feel the students are learning. I love that the teachers get parents involved and let us know whats going on with our children in a way that makes me feel they really care. The Principal is a doll. Although this is her first year with Havlicek and my sons last year I'm almost certain that she'll continue the good job and expect no less from teachers.

I love this school, I have nothing but great things to say about the staff at Havlicek they are great! Not only do the teachers take a great deal of interest in our children but I feel the priciple and staff are also very caring. My son has attended Havlicek since first grade and I'm so sad that he wil be leaving this year and will be attending a new school due to our having to move out of the district. I will truley miss everyone. Sincerely, Melinda Cordero-Torres

havlicek is a great place to learn. my kids enjoy going to school! the only thing thats bad is their lunches.
