Coles Elementary Language Academy Reviews

At one point coles it had looked as if Coles was making a turn for the better. I believe that it was a front to get parents support, when in reality the new administration could care less about our children, the school, parents, or community. I have 2 children left at coles and have been trying to decide whether I should keep them here at coles or pay for private school. I have placed numerous calls to the cps and nothing has been done. I have made a decision to make this my children(s) last yr at coles school. Although we as a economy are in a recession/depression I have decided to pay for my children(s) education. Where administration and teachers care about quality learning and teaching. Not to mention Safety is a major concern at this school.

Coles is a true diamond in this community that has a sparkle and contiues to get brighter by the day...When crossing the threshold one can feel the componets that comprise a quality educational institution...I truly see coles living up to its name and being a model for others locally and nation wide.

Coles is a work in progress. Since the leadership has changed, the climate and culture of the school is changing, for the better. Parents must become more involved in their child's education because we as teachers can not do it alone. I believe if we ALL work together for the children, Coles will go far!

From what I have seen Coles is in excellent hands and is heading in the right direction. The administration and teachers are dedicated to the students. Parents, can we all come together to get on board as well so that we can take part in having our children receive a quality education? They can't do it without us and I don't want to be left behind!

Yhanks to new leadership coles school has improved in areas from safety, disipline, and most of all education. This school year students and some of the staff are working together. My only hang up is that some teachers curse at, and belittle our children. Schools are quick to disipline the student, but staff needs to be disipline as well. Mr. Dase (principal) and Mr. Estees (asst. Principal) keep up the good work!! Change don't come over night.

I am disappointed in Coles Language Academy. My child has been a student of this school since mid-year of 3rd grade. She is now in 6th grade, and I am still disappointed. The teachers are hard to meet with, no one in the office seem to know what is going on internally. I have seen nothing but chaos. I am desperately looking for other alternatives. My child is a gifted student that is often bored in class. Unless the principal comes up with a plan on how to gain control of the school and its academics, I do not see this school around much longer.

I had a child enrolled in Kinder. for a short period last year and I was very disappointed in several things. The curriculum is extremely low in comparison to other neighborhood schools, my child wasn't challenged at all. There were over 35 children in one class with one teacher and no helper often times. A lot of the children have severe behavioral problems which quite obviously takes away from the learning time of others. The school was very disorganized, collecting money for field trips that hadn't even been approved by the board. Children broke into the school twice while my child was there and it seems as though the principal was unable to find a way to keep children out of the building. (imagine that!) In the event that you parents have any other options utilize them or you to will be disappointed!
